Bill Overby

Director of Development and Trustor Services

Bill Overby joined the NC Baptist Foundation staff as Director of Trust and Endowment Development in February 1991 and has enjoyed his service of leading the planned- giving efforts of North Carolina Baptists. Outside of Baptist life, he had the privilege in 2008 of being elected to serve as president of the North Carolina Planned Giving Council, a statewide organization of for-profit and non-profit professionals in the charitable giving field.

Bill grew up in Roanoke Rapids, NC, and graduated from NC State University in 1976, with a BS degree in Parks and Recreation Administration.  His first fifteen working years were spent in central New Jersey with the Monmouth County Park System, the last ten as Assistant Chief of Land Acquisition.

He and his wife, Sara, are members of Westwood Baptist Church in Cary where Bill currently serves as a deacon.  They have two grown children, Michael and Beth, who live in Washington, DC, and Cairo, Egypt, respectively.

For fun, Bill enjoys traveling the country with his family in their popup camper.  He also enjoys gardening, sports and almost any activity that involves being out of doors.
