NORTH CAROLINA BAPTIST FOUNDATION BOARD NAMES PRESIDENT-ELECT
In September 2022 the Foundation Board of Directors appointed a President-Elect Search Committee and gave them the responsibility of searching for and recommending to the Board of Directors a person to succeed current Foundation President, Clay Warf, who had announced his plans to retire at the end of 2023. The search committee includes Robert Howard (Chair), Rodney Hicks (current Board Chair), board member Michael Cummings, long serving Foundation staff member Dolly Pierce, and Baptist State Convention Chief Financial Officer John Butler. On Monday, May 15, the President-Elect Search Committee recommended Harry H. Nelson II as the next Foundation President and the Board of Directors voted unanimously to accept the recommendation.
Mr. Nelson lives in Wake Forest, NC, and currently serves as Chief Operating Officer, Director of Strategic Initiatives and Director of Distribution for Eventide Asset Management, LLC, with home offices in Boston. Previously, Mr. Nelson worked with GuideStone Financial Resources where he served as President, GuideStone Capital Management, LLC, and Executive Director, Retirement and Investments, GuideStone Financial Resources. He also has Financial Services Experience at Charles Schwab and Waterhouse Securities, Inc.
Mr. Nelson is a native of Charlotte, NC, and holds a BA from The Citadel, and an MA in Leadership from Dallas Baptist University. He also received Executive Education in Investment Consulting from the Wharton School of Business, University of Pennsylvania. He holds the designation of CIMA, Certified Investment Management Analyst, Investment and Wealth Institute.
He is married to his wife of 31 years, Pamela, and they have 8 children and 7 grandchildren. He and his family are members of Faith Baptist Church, Youngsville. Prior to moving to Wake Forest they were members of Hickory Grove Baptist Church, Charlotte.
