Biographical Info

Dr. Allen Schuyler serves with the NC Baptist Foundation as Western Area Manager. With 35 years of experience in the pastorate, Allen comes to this position with excitement and many years of seasoning within the local church. He was born in Galax, VA, and grew up in Rural Hall, NC, north of Winston-Salem. Sensing God’s call to ministerial service as a high school junior, he has served churches in North Carolina and Virginia, completing 21 years as pastor of Candlewyck Baptist in Charlotte prior to coming to The Foundation. He graduated from Campbell University with a bachelor’s degree in religion and from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary with both the Master of Divinity degree and the Doctor of Ministry degree.

Allen and wife, Becky, live in Charlotte. They have three children, and three grandchildren. He enjoys music (a guitarist and vocalist for two bands), reading, mission trips to South Africa, and is a committed football and basketball fan.

An accomplished preacher and teacher, Allen is gifted in building collaborative relationships for greater discipleship development and missional engagement. Using his motivational coaching skills, his desire is to encourage individuals and groups toward greater financial discipleship as followers of Jesus through the ministry of the NC Baptist Foundation.
