Biographical Info

Norbert joined our staffed in 2017 as our first Managing Director for Information Technology, bringing with him over twenty years of knowledge and experience with information systems.

A native of Germany, he grew up in Bavaria and completed an apprenticeship with the German Bundespost.  He later joined the German Army and served a two year commission in Regensburg, Bavaria.  During his tenure, he worked as a liaison supporting the 4th Battalion, the American Forces and the Canadian Forces.

He moved to New York in 1984, where he married his wife, Heidi.  There he labored as an electrician/programmer while working for the German Airline, Lufthansa.

Working in information technology since 1996, he returned to school for Networking Technologies.  He spent four years working for an IBM vendor installing learning labs in middle schools.  He joined a solutions provider in Wake County and stayed with them as Senior Engineer for 17 years.

For the past 20 years, Norbert has resided in Chapel Hill with his wife, Heidi, who is the Church Administrator for Holy Trinity Lutheran Church.  Their daughter, Monika, works at UNC Children’s Hospital, and their son, Christian, works at Moses Cone Hospital in the Neurotrauma ICU. When he is not working or spending time with his family, Norbert enjoys playing soccer, going to the gym and solving Sudoku and Crossword puzzles.
