Richard Childress joined the North Carolina Baptist Foundation Staff as Vice President for Development in November of 2017. Richard comes to the Foundation with experience in stewardship development and philanthropic endeavors. When you meet Richard you will discover he has a strong desire to serve, a passion for people and a vision for helping people to be effective stewards as they impact the world with a generous spirit. He serves on a number of boards and is involved in a wide-variety of ministry and non-profit organizations. He is proven to be successful in growing teams and engaging best practice business processes. He has a long history of denominational service in Tennessee and Virginia. He served as a fund raising consultant and is known for his work in stewardship development. He is a gifted speaker and has an extensive background in interpersonal relations.
Richard grew up in east Tennessee, attended East Tennessee State University and graduated from Carson Newman University, with a BA in Business/Religion. He has a Master of Divinity from SBTS and a Doctor of Ministry from SEBTS.
